Somatic Magnificence
Experience the quiet unfolding!
“I begin with an idea and then it becomes something else.”
- Pablo Picasso -
Through material, gesture, and attention, we return to the quiet intelligence of the body. Each act of making opens a space for presence, curiosity, and renewal — a way of listening through touch, movement, and form.
This work invites you to move gently inward — to experience, to create, and to reflect.
Art becomes a way of listening
Art as Somatic Inquiry
My work explores how embodied awareness, creative practice, and reflective inquiry shape the ways we come to know ourselves and the world around us.
These pathways offer distinct ways of entering that exploration — through direct experience, shared creation, and thoughtful reflection.
Each invites a slower, more attentive way of being with art, with material, and with one another — a practice of noticing, sensing, and becoming.
I’m drawn to the tactile world — and I guide others to discover their own ways of sensing and being moved.
Experience
Encounter the sensory, material, and somatic roots of my work.
Creation is a conversation — shaped by touch, curiosity, and the presence of others.
Create
Enter the studio — where teaching becomes shared exploration.
Reflect
Follow the ideas, research, and questions that shape my practice.
Making art is like breathing — a way of tending to others and to myself.
Reflect
Return to the quiet meanings that shape my practice.
Moments of art and teaching that reveal the quiet power of connection.
Stories of Connection
These moments of connection remind me that art and teaching are shared spaces of discovery, healing, and meaning.

"Lifted the weight of me for the moment. Tapped my inner spirit for joy to overcome my hardship."

"This calmed my mind." I thoroughly enjoyed the action of wrapping and how it conjured up childhood memories of winding yarn.

And then, every so often, a story arrives that stays with me.
“I just want to say thank you so much for everything this semester… You have not only taught me about art but you have taught me about myself… Your class was a highlight of my week… Seeing you love Picasso the way my late grandfather did kept his memory alive for me… You are an amazing artist, teacher, and inspiration… I am so grateful I chose your class…”
